Becky and her groom were married in St John’s Church in Washingborough and wanted a single pedestal design. I re-created the waterfall design of the bouquet, rather than the more traditional design. Added into the pinks and ivory flowers were red roses as these had significance to the bride.
This design was to be carried back to the Hall for the reception.

The top table had a trailing long and low design in a mix of red, pinks and ivory flowers with mixed foliage.

Becky asked me to be involved with her wedding after seeing me at The Bailgate wedding fayre. Her ceremony was at St John’s Washingborough and the reception venue was the gorgeous Washingborough Hall Hotel.
Today I am posting the bridal flowers and following on tomorrow will be the ceremony and reception flowers.

Becky asked for a full, waterfall shower bouquet, in pinks both cerise and pale and ivory with a mix of foliage. I included ivory, cerise and pale pink roses, cerise pink spay carnations and ivory freesia.

Lauren and Dan’s wedding was Christmas 2013 but it was such a lovely set up that I had to share. A photo of one of their candelabra displays also gave my business a boost as it was this tweet that Theo Paphitis picked out on his #SBS (small business Sunday) a couple of weeks later.

Lauren wanted to keep her flowers fairly simple and in keeping with her black and white theme. We chose ivory roses and black skeleton leaves with black lily grass for the loops. The stems were bound with black satin ribbon.

I promised some gorgeous flower photos to kick start my blog and today I am making good with that promise. There is so much I want to add but this is a flower blog and they need to go first.

These are some of my favorite bouquets from my lovely brides, from traditional showers, cascade bouquets and posy hand ties it is hard to choose there are so many.

Welcome to my new blog. Unfortunately I have lost all my old posts from the old blog so having to start from scratch. BUT that means lots of lovely posts to catch up on all the floral loveliness I have lost/missed. So a new web page and blog have been created and all new photos are being added, I hope you are ready to be bombarded with flowery madness!!!

For my first post though I wanted to blog about my #SBS win and the wonderful time I had at the #SBS Event 2015 at Birmingham on Friday.

What is #SBS I hear you ask?  Small Business Sunday is Theo Paphitis creation on Twitter for any small business to tweet him on a Sunday between 5 and 7.30pm about their business using hashtag #sbs. On a Monday at 8pm he re-tweets his 6 favourite from thousands of tweets to over 450,000 of his followers and you are instantly welcomed into the #SBS family. Believe me your twitter notifications go bonkers!!!

From here it is up to you. Some are happy just for the retweet, but if you put a little effort in you are rewarded further. I was lucky to get free press in a Lincolnshire magazine and have had an editorial in Gainsborough life along with photos of my work in here and a wedding magazine as a result of this win. It has also given me the confidence to enter the 2014 Gainsborough business awards where I won Best New Business at a black tie event at The White Heather club.

Following on from that all winners are invited to the #sbs event, this year held at the ICC Birmingham. Completely free of charge (thanks to all involved) this is a day of networking, talks, Q&A with some great speakers, and for newbies a certificate and photo opportunity with the man himself Theo.

The speakers we had were Julian Callede from made.com, bespoke made furniture, Judy Naake from St Tropez fake tan and Rob Forkan from Gandy’s flip flops all have made their business from the ground upwards. Some great advice was given, including:

It isn’t easy, you will get some things wrong but hard work and perseverance will pay off.
You can’t be shy, you have to get out there and talk about your business.
It’s your business, go with your passion and if the numbers add up DO IT!!

I spoke with some some great people Jane Means, Jackie from Pulse CSI, Ali Clay from Gorgeous gifts, Dan Trewick from Biz Promo Videos, Wendy Surridge from Blend Tea and Coffee, Steph Savill from Foxy lady drivers club, Joyce Connor from Brides and Beauty, Rachel Smith from Creative Hen parties and Peter Brodie from Brodie skin care.  Also Chris my designer of this web site from Metalfrog Studios Limited plus so many more, it was hard to keep up.

I was so busy enjoying myself and talking to all these wonderful people that I forgot to take any photos!! But here is my certificate I was presented with and my phone snap of that moment. Hopefully the official one will be better.

Until next time when there will be lots of gorgeous flowers x
